Property Tax Schedule

Property taxes are billed twice annually by the City of Dearborn. 

Summer Tax Bill

Summer taxes are levied on July 1 each year. 

Payments are due by Sept. 14. 

The summer tax bill includes the school tax, city tax, and the county-allocated operating tax. 

Summer taxes can be paid in three installments on or before the following dates: Sept. 14, Nov. 14, and Jan. 14.  

A one-time $3 fee is applied to pay in installments.

Eligible residents may apply for deferment of summer taxes. 

Winter Tax Bill

Winter taxes are levied on Dec. 1 each year. 

Payments are due by Feb. 14. 

Winter taxes must be paid in full (no installment option).

Winter Tax Bill includes the remainder of the county taxes and the City Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) debt.

The City offers a variety of options for residents to pay property taxes and utility bills.

Sign Up for Automatic Payments

Pay Online

Residents may pay property taxes, miscellaneous invoices, special assessment bills, and delinquent personal property taxes online using the BS&A website. This service is free to City of Dearborn property owners who create and account and register their property. If you are an occupant of a property, but not the owner, you will need to create an account to access tax information for a $6 fee.

 

If residents pay with a credit or debit card, a 3% convenience fee is charged on the full transaction amount. If residents pay by e-check, there is a $3 convenience fee charged.

Pay by Mobile App

The Divdat Mobile Payment App is also available and runs on both Apple/IOS and Android platforms. Search Divdat in your app store and download in order to make an e-check or credit card payment. Call your bank to ensure proper ABA and account information.

 

Residents paying by credit card or debit card will incur a 3% convenience fee. E-Checks are free.

DIVDAT Kiosk

Located in the vestibule in the main entrance at the Dearborn Administrative Center or by downloading the app on your phone. Residents paying by credit card or debit card will incur a 3% convenience fee. 

Payment Drop-Off

The 24-hour secure payment drop box is located in the parking lot across from the main doors of the Dearborn Administrative Center.

Mail

Checks must be made payable to the City of Dearborn. Postmarks are not accepted as proof of payment. All payments will be posted on the date your payment is received by the City of Dearborn.

 

If using the Lansing lock box, do not send certified mail to the Lansing PO Box locations. If using certified mail, send checks to the Dearborn Administrative Center at 16901 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, MI 48126.

Automatic Payments

The City of Dearborn offers residents the option to set up automatic payments for property taxes with a direct withdrawal from a bank account with ACH Debit (Automated Clearing House). This payment option is free.

 

Residents have the option to cancel their participation in the automatic payment program at any time.
