A letter from Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud

Dear Neighbors,

I am pleased to present to you the 2026 Dearborn City Calendar. As we look forward to another year of delivering exciting new programs and enhanced City services, I want to express my gratitude to you for the privilege of serving you.

Last year marked the first time our administration, with support from City Council, delivered the City calendar to every Dearborn household. Since then, it’s become a meaningful way to highlight the people, places, and events that make our community special, while also providing easy access to key dates for City services, programs, and public meetings. In our continuous effort to serve our diverse population, we are proud to announce that all service information is now provided in both English and Arabic, ensuring greater accessibility and understanding for everyone.

You will notice this year’s theme: Dearborn From Above. It highlights not only the beauty of our city from a new perspective, but also the modern aerial technology we’re using to better serve residents. The images featuring key Dearborn landmarks were captured by our trained drone camera operators. This technology has helped us document everything from cleanup efforts along the Rouge River as part of our flood mitigation work to rescue operations conducted by our public safety teams.

Along with the beautiful, sprawling landmarks and settings that make up our city, each calendar month contains custom-designed illustrations that highlight local features from each aerial scene.

The 2026 Dearborn City Calendar is a comprehensive guide designed to keep you fully informed and engaged with our vibrant community. Within these pages, you will discover a wealth of essential information, including important dates for neighborhood services, a guide to city services organized by season, public meeting schedules, and a calendar of exciting events and important holidays.

As always, a digital copy of this entire calendar remains readily available for convenient download at Dearborn.gov/Calendar.

Thank you for making Dearborn your home and for your continued trust in our services. We are committed to fostering a strong, connected, and informed community. It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve you.

In Service,

Abdullah Hammoud

Winter From Above

Dearborn transforms into a peaceful, quiet retreat when winter arrives, with soft snow and shimmering lights. Ford Field Park, for instance, offers a timeless seasonal joy, its legendary hill filled with the laughter of people sledding. Adding to the city's winter charm is PEACE Park West, which is experiencing its first winter since opening in 2024, resting serene beneath a blanket of white.

The spirit of reflection blossoms as Dearborn marks the 100th Memorial Day Parade, a century-long tradition of honoring those who served. The city also honors 313 Day with views of the Detroit skyline from East Dearborn. The Ford Community & Performing Arts Center features the vibrant “Colors of the Community” mural.

Dearborn’s Southend now features the city’s first butterfly garden, created from a once-vacant lot. The city is an excellent place to enjoy fall colors from late September to November, with vibrant displays throughout neighborhoods and parks. As a Tree City USA for 39 years, Dearborn’s diverse tree canopy provides a long, colorful autumn season.
