On Monday, July 14, 2025, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office denied charges in a fatal shooting incident that occurred on Friday, July 11, citing insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant was not acting in defense of another.

On Friday at approximately 11 p.m., Dearborn Police and Dearborn Fire Department responded to a call on the 1700 block of Walnut Street. A preliminary investigation revealed that during a domestic disturbance in the home, one subject was fatally shot by another family member.

The individual was taken into custody by police at the scene and remained in custody until being released on Monday, July 14, following the denial of charges by the Prosecutor’s office.
