Senior Housing

The City of Dearborn is committed to providing accessible and affordable housing options for its residents through two distinct programs:

1.) The Dearborn Housing Division

2.) The Dearborn Housing Commission

What housing options does the City of Dearborn provide for seniors?

1.) The Dearborn Housing Division provides housing for "moderate income" seniors aged 55 years and older. These City buildings include the Suzanne Sareini Manor and John B. O'Reilly Jr. Manor.

Buildings are discounted market-rate rentals for residents ages 55+ with certain income requirements.

2.) The Dearborn Housing Commission provides housing options for low-income seniors and disabled residents, subject to regulation by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These federally subsidized buildings include the Townsend Towers, Sisson Manor, and Kennedy Plaza.

These buildings are subsidized housing with no income minimum, open to those ages 50+ or 18+ with a disability. In federal housing, rent is capped at 30% of your income.
