Work Program

You have been sentenced to the Work Program as an alternative to incarceration. If you should fail to follow the rules and regulation of the Work Program, the Court may revoke this privilege and sentence you to serve time in jail. The work program runs Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Please contact your Probation Officer to sign up for your days.

1. The Work Program is an approximate (8) hour commitment starting promptly at 7:15a.m. You must be at the main
entrance of the Court by 7:15a.m. prior to the door opening. The door will be locked by 7:30a.m. if you arrive after that
time, you will be considered a “No Show” and not be allowed to complete your Work Program obligations that day.

2. You are required to complete your Work Program duties on the scheduled days unless you have a medical emergency that prevents you from doing so. To be excused, you must provide a note from your healthcare provider to the Work Program office confirming that you are unable to work.

3. All unexcused absences will be treated as a No Show, you will be required to reschedule and you will be charged a $50 rescheduling fee, which must be paid before you are given a new day.

4. If during your Work Program duties you engage in disruptive behavior, fail to follow the instructions of the Supervisor or bring electronic devices in the van (such as cellphone, smart watch, e-cigarettes or vape pens, iPods etc.) you will be sent home, denied credit for any part of the day and you will be charged a $50 reschedule fee.

5. No smoking unless you are on break.

Rules to complete Work Program successfully

A. Have picture I.D. with you every day.

B. Have your work schedule with you every day. This is important because if your name is not on the roster and you do
not have your schedule with you, you will not be allowed to work and will not receive credit for the day.

C. Dress appropriately for working outdoors. Wear comfortable shoes. Your feet must be completely covered (no sandals, flip flops or open-toed shoes).

D. Bring lunch and water with you. You will NOT be permitted to stop at fast food places, gas stations, mini-marts or other places of business during the Work Program.

E. No alcohol or drug use is permitted prior to or during the work day. You are not allowed visitors while on the Work
Program.

F. No electronic devices are allowed in the van (cell phone, smart watch, pager, iPod, anything with an “on” switch). The Court will provide a secure locker to store your device during your shift. THE COURT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DEVICE AND IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIMED DAMAGE. If you are caught with a device at any point during the work day, you will be sent home, you will not receive credit for the day, and you will be charged the $50 rescheduling fee.
