Parking enforcement for Public Service Days begin Monday, March 2; Yard Waste Collection starts March 9

Published Feb. 27, 2026

Beginning Monday, March 2, 2026, the City of Dearborn will resume curb-to-curb services on neighborhood trash collection days as part of its Public Service Days program. The City’s yard waste collection also resumes on Monday, March 9.

Public Service Days and yard waste collection coincide with each neighborhood’s regularly scheduled trash collection day.

Public Service Days improve the efficiency of trash, recycling, and yard waste collection for City and contract workers, and allow for more efficient management of other services, including road repairs and sewer and catch basin maintenance.

Starting Monday, March 2, all parked vehicles must be moved from residential streets on the day of scheduled weekly trash, public service, and yard waste collection between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Vehicles that remain in violation will be ticketed by the Dearborn Police.

Public Service Day parking restrictions are not enforced following a city holiday, when trash, recycling, and yard waste collection are delayed. For information on delayed service dates and information, see the 2026 Dearborn City Calendar.

Call 311 for questions about parking issues related to public service days or to request a parking exemption due to hardship. Parking hardship applications are also available at the front desk of the Dearborn Police Station located at 16099 Michigan Ave.
