MiFile at the 19th District Court

MiFile is a statewide electronic filing (e-filing) system that allows for the electronic submission and serving of documents in Michigan courts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week instead of handing them to a court clerk in person. MiFile includes cases that have already been decided and closed.

All cases at the 19th District Court must be filed using MiFile starting October 31, 2024.

Am I required to use MiFile?

Under Michigan Court Rule 1.109(G)(3)(f), attorneys will be mandated to e-file. Self-represented litigants may e-file but are not required to do so.

You will need a MiFile account to submit forms to the court. Creating an account is free.

Attorneys should also:

 (1) Register an email address with the State Bar of Michigan for use with MiFile,

 (2) Take action to make sure your legal support staff can file, serve, and receive service and notifications on your behalf.

Paying Fees in E-Filed Cases

It is free to sign up for MiFile and maintain an account, but there are fees to file some forms with the court (either in person or electronically). There are generally three types of fees you will have to pay when you e-file, including statutory filing fee, the e-filing system fee, and the credit card processing fee.
