Federal Programs & Grant Compliance

The City of Dearborn receives grants and funding through federal, state, and private agencies. With support from the Mayor’s Office as well as partnership with other city departments, funding is sought to accomplish City priorities, offer services, and make improvements to daily life for the residents of Dearborn. A significant responsibility of securing grant funding is to ensure compliance with funding sources. For this purpose, the City of Dearborn provides information about its use of grant funds and how those dollars are managed locally.
Federal Grant Award Programs in Dearborn

The City of Dearborn ensures compliance with formula grants—these are funds given based on population and designation. These “block grants” are meant to be spent on areas of the city that have experienced disinvestment.  

 

Grant funds cannot be utilized for purposes other than the intention(s) agreed upon by the City and funding agency.
