19th District Court transitions to State’s MiFILE program
Published Oct. 31, 2024
The 19th District Court is excited to announce that as of today, Oct. 31, 2024, the court has transitioned to an e-filing system.
Court staff has been hard at work preparing for the transition to this program. Staff have completed the MiFILE training, obtained the necessary technology, and made business process changes to accommodate filers and the Court.
Chief Judge Sam Salamey stated, “As one of the 60 plus courts to sign on to this transformative program, the 19th District Court is demonstrating our commitment to delivering a more efficient, effective, and accessible experience for our citizens, in part by being early adopters of MiFILE.”
Now that the court is live with MiFILE, attorneys are required to e-file as required by Michigan Court Rule 1.109(G)(3)(f). Self-represented litigants may participate in the e-filing program but will not be required to do so.
Salamey further stated, “Our goal is to make the transition from paper filings to MiFILE as seamless as possible. We will continue to work with our dedicated court staff and other stakeholders to provide greater support, access, and education as we make this shift.”
Filers can learn more about MiFILE on Michigan’s One Court of Justice Filer Information page or by reviewing the MiFILE Quick Reference Guide. Video tutorials demonstrating the e-filing process are available on the MiFILE YouTube Channel. Prior to filing to MiFILE, all filers are encouraged to watch the filing process webinars available on the MiFILE website.
