Dearborn residents are invited to nominate homes with excellent curb appeal, bolstered by decorative touches and front yard landscaping, for the City Beautiful Commission’s 2026 Residential Standard of Excellence (RSOE) recognition program.
Nominations will be accepted now through June 15, 2026 and can be submitted here , or by calling 311, or by sending an email to citybeautiful@dearborn.gov.
Only front yards and front facades can be considered.
Volunteer commissioners will be driving across Dearborn from June 19 to July 13 to choose up to three properties within each of the City’s 17 districts for top honors, and up to 27 properties in each district for honorable mention.
Top honorees will receive a congratulatory lawn sign announcing the selection and will be invited to an awards dinner in early 2027, hosted by Mayor Abdullah Hammoud. All chosen properties will be sent a letter and a window decal.
The City Beautiful Commission honors homeowners through six programs annually: The Residential Standard of Excellence and the Business Standard of Excellence for property maintenance and overall curb appeal; the Sustainable Garden Award for residential rain gardens, pollinator gardens and native plant gardens; and Spring, Fall and Winter Aglow programs for eye-catching outdoor seasonal decorations.
The commission also promotes anti-littering campaigns and environmental stewardship with Dearborn schools, encouraging students through its Junior City Beautiful Commission program and annual spring events on campuses.
Mayor Hammoud appoints all members of the commission.
