The City of Dearborn will host their annual Veterans Day Ceremony and recognize the 2024-25 Veteran of the Year on Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. The event is open to the public and will take place at the Michael A. Guido Theater at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.
Selected by the Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council, Army Veteran Robert Amenson will be honored as the 2024 Veteran of the Year during the City of Dearborn's annual Veterans Day Ceremony.
Amenson fought in the Vietnam War from 1966-1967 after being drafted into the U.S. Army as a quartermaster specialist 4. He has dedicated the remainder of his life to serving veterans and his community.
Amenson, who is an active member of the American Legion Fort Dearborn Post 267 and Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 267, has over 7,500 hours of volunteer service to the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Ann Arbor.
The Detroit-native and his wife, Susan, live in Saline.
