Engineering & Road Maintenance

The maintenance of public roads in Dearborn is managed by the City of Dearborn, Wayne County, and agencies of the State of Michigan. This includes snow plowing, potholes, and other necessary repairs.

The entity responsible for road and repairs is determined by who owns the road, the City, the County, or the State.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) oversees maintenance of all City of Dearborn-owned roads and intersections. Repairs and construction on City-owned roads are directed by the Engineering Division of DPW. The Engineering Division works closely with Wayne County and state agencies on projects impacting Dearborn roadways that are not owned or operated by the City.
