A letter from Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud

Dear Neighbors,

I am excited to share with you the 2025 Dearborn City Calendar: Working for You.

As Mayor, I have the privilege and honor of serving you: the residents and businesses of Dearborn. I have often shared that Dearborn is the greatest city in the world, and I know this to be true, in part, because of the passion, commitment, and dedication of those who I am privileged to work alongside to ensure our city keeps running each and every day.

This year’s calendar theme is an introduction and celebration of the hardworking City employees and public servants who are working for you to deliver the countless city programs and services that makeup what we call the Dearborn Advantage.

The City of Dearborn currently employs over 1,400 full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. This network of professionals is responsible for the work that helps guide and shape the decisions my administration makes in tandem with our City Council.

These employees take your calls, help you at our service counters, organize our community events, help keep us safe, improve and maintain our built environment and infrastructure, boost our public health, and relay the info you need to make smart and informed decisions about your life as a part of the Dearborn community. Underlying this work is a dedication to public service as they strive towards trust and dependability to truly make a difference in the lives of those who choose to call Dearborn home.

I am constantly inspired by their shared commitment to those who make this city special. Together, we continue to build on our promise to make Dearborn a world-class city that is the aspiration of our neighbors, where families choose to lay down roots, start businesses, and grow generations.

This year’s City Calendar is special for a number of reasons. For the first time, my administration has worked to include funding in our balanced budget to ensure a copy is mailed to every Dearborn household.

As always, you’ll find in these pages important City contact information, a list of all City services by season, public meeting dates and times, events, holidays, and more. In addition, service information is now provided in both English and Arabic.

For a deeper dive, you will also find a QR code throughout the calendar, linking you to an online library of photos and video content on our City’s brand new website: Dearborn.gov. As always, a digital copy of the calendar is available at Dearborn.gov/Calendar

Thank you for choosing Dearborn. It is an honor to work for you.

In Service,

Abdullah Hammoud
