Garage & Estate Sales
All residents are required to obtain a license for any garage sale, moving sale, yard sale, and/or estate sale. The license issued by the City Clerk's office is valid for three consecutive days.
A license for a garage or estate sale can be obtained online through BS&A Online Services. For any additional questions or help applying, contact 313-943-2010.
Fees
$10 for the first sale
$15 for the second sale
$20 for the third sale
$25 for the fourth sale in the same calendar year
Residents may hold a maximum of four garage sales per year.
For an additional $10 fee per sale, your information can be added to the Garage Sale Google map on the City’s website.
There are no refunds in the event that a sale is not held when scheduled.
