Government

The role of Dearborn’s government is to serve the residents, businesses, and visitors of Dearborn in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.

The City of Dearborn is governed by a Mayor and a seven-member City Council, all elected by the voters of Dearborn to each serve four-year terms. The Mayor and City Council work together to govern and address the needs of the community.

The city is also served by a city clerk and three judges who serve the 19th District Court, all of whom are elected by the voters of Dearborn.

The Mayor also works closely with more than a dozen City department directors and their staff to ensure the delivery of Dearborn's high-quality public services.
