Health Programs & Resources

Promoting mental and behavioral well-being is essential for fostering a thriving, resilient, and cohesive community. Dearborn residents have long faced unique challenges—issues that have been exacerbated by structural inequities, discrimination, chronic stressors, and global crises.

Our mental and behavioral health initiatives aim to provide comprehensive support, raise awareness, and advocate for policies that address these critical concerns. By focusing on prevention, treatment, and community-based strategies, we strive to create a healthier and more supportive environment for all.

Dearborn Community Health Needs Assessment

The Dearborn Public Health Department is launching the first Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and need your input! This survey helps us understand the city's health needs. It is anonymous, private, and available in English and Arabic for Dearborn residents 18+ only. The first 1,000 respondents who meet all eligibility requirements will receive a $10 gift card for participating.

Health Communications

Effective health communication is not just about spreading awareness—it's a critical intervention that shapes the well-being of our community.

Public health can often be a highly complex and technocratic discipline. Not at Dearborn Public Health: Here, our health communications strategy goes beyond outreach. We aim to connect with you to empower you with the knowledge and resources you need to make informed decisions about your health.

We share exciting news and critical health updates so that you know how your government is working for you. From addressing misinformation to promoting healthy behaviors, our communications are designed to engage, educate, and inspire positive change. As a department, we are committed to using every tool at our disposal to create a healthier, more informed Dearborn. That starts with how we talk.
