Block party licenses can be obtained year-round from the City Clerk’s Office for a $25 fee per event.
City ordinances permit police to revoke a block party permit if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the residents of the city.
All streets must be cleared and re-opened for traffic no later than midnight on the evening of the party.
After obtaining a license to host a block party, barricades will be delivered by Department of Public Works staff to the assigned resident's address at least one day prior to the event. Barricades will be picked up by Department of Public Works staff within two days of the event.
Please leave barricades on your easement, unless it's trash day. On trash days, they can be left on your front lawn.
Please note: if the city receives complaints from residents in this area at any time, you may be required to submit a new petition that overrides any petition currently on file.
