The City appoints Patricia Podzikowski as director of Dearborn Public Libraries

The City of Dearborn is proud to announce the appointment of Patricia Podzikowski as the new Library Director for the City of Dearborn’s Public Libraries.
Podzikowski brings a wealth of experience to this leadership role, having served the library system since 1999. Over the past two and a half decades, she has held numerous key positions, including Assistant Librarian, Children's Librarian, Cataloger, Supervisor in the Adult Services Department, Administrative Librarian, and most recently Interim Library Director.
Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud stated, “Patty has provided steady leadership as interim director for the past several months, making her the ideal person to guide the Dearborn Public Libraries into the next chapter. Dearborn is fortunate to have her expertise and commitment as we continue to evolve our library services to meet the needs of all Dearborn residents, and continue to provide excellent services to the community, library staff and its patrons."
Podzikowski holds a Bachelor's Degree from Madonna University and a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Wayne State University. Her extensive background within the department, and her role as interim director ensures a seamless transition and a continued commitment to community-focused library services.
Podzikowski stated, "I am thrilled to step into the role of Library Director. I look forward to working closely with the City and Library staff to deliver exceptional services, innovative programs, and a welcoming environment for all community members and library patrons."
