On Friday, March 21, 2025, at 2:58 p.m., Dearborn Police officers responded to the area of Tireman Ave and Anthony St on the Dearborn/Detroit border for a motor vehicle collision involving an off-road vehicle.
Officers arrived on scene and found the adult male rider of a dirt bike unresponsive with a head injury. The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. A private ambulance service, who happened upon the collision, was already on scene and provided lifesaving measures to the rider, transporting him to a nearby hospital.
The rider, a 24-year-old Detroit resident, succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital. The incident is currently under investigation, although a preliminary investigation suggests that speed on the part of the rider is likely to be a factor in the collision.
Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin stated, “Our hearts go out to the rider’s family in this tragic incident. We thank the emergency responders for their quick action at the scene, and intend to complete a thorough investigation. We continue to urge caution and adherence to traffic safety laws on our roads.”
