Dearborn Police investigate fatal motorcycle crash on Carlysle St

On Monday, July 7, 2025, at approximately 8:36 p.m., Dearborn Police and Fire personnel responded to a single-motorcycle crash in the 23000 block of Carlysle Street, near a local business.
Upon arrival, Dearborn first responders located a 56-year-old Dearborn Heights man critically injured and unresponsive. The rider had reportedly struck the east door of a building while operating a motorcycle. It was determined that the rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
A bystander was already providing aid and applying pressure to the rider’s injuries when officers arrived. Upon arrival, officers quickly rendered emergency first aid before Dearborn Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Witnesses on the scene reported that the rider had accelerated at a high rate of speed and appeared to lose control of the motorcycle while attempting to park at a nearby business. The motorcycle traveled northbound across Carlysle Street before striking the building head-on. Witnesses confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Dearborn Police Department.
