The Dearborn City Council will hold a public hearing at a special meeting on Wednesday, January 8th 1, 2025 at 6:15 pm in the Council Chambers of the Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Avenue, for the confirmation of Special Assessment Roll No. 875. The public purpose is for distributing costs of maintaining city-owned parking lots in the East Dearborn Business District for five annual one-year periods. The first of the five annual maintenance periods is from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 and the fifth annual maintenance period is from July 1, 2027 through June 30, 2028.
A notice has been sent to the owner of each business property located within Special Assessment District No. 875 by mail at least 15 days prior to the public hearing. The proposed Special Assessment Roll No. 875 is available for public inspection at the City Clerk's Office. Any persons having objections to the distribution of costs within the special assessment district must either attend the hearing or file their objections in writing with the City Clerk prior to the hearing date.
The owner or any person having an interest in the real property may file a written appeal of the special assessment with the Michigan Tax Tribunal within 30 days after the confirmation of the special assessment roll if that special assessment was protested at the hearing held for the purpose of confirming the roll.
