Several City buildings will close, with some observing limited hours, during the winter holidays. Trash and recycling collection is also affected.
Building hours
The Dearborn Fire Department, Police Department, and Dispatch Center will continue operating around the clock, daily.
The Dearborn Administrative Center (DAC), the 19th District Court, and all Dearborn Public Library branches will be closed for Christmas Eve/Day and New Year’s Day/Eve, resuming regular hours from Thursday, Dec. 26, to Monday, Dec. 30, and Thursday, Jan. 2.
The Ford Community and Performing Arts Center and the Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC) will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1.
On Tuesday, Dec. 31, The Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Dearborn Ice Skating Center will hold public skating hours from 12-2 p.m.
Dearborn Seniors Services, located inside The Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, will be closed from Monday, Dec. 23 through Jan. 2, 2025.
Trash and recycling
Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 25. This means that residents with a Wednesday pickup will have their trash and recycling collected on Thursday, Dec. 26. This pattern will continue throughout the week, with Friday’s trash pickup occurring on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed again on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, New Year’s Day.
Trash and recycling will be collected Thursday, Jan. 2, through Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025.
