April is Arts Month Dearborn, a celebration of arts, cultural, and creative opportunities for residents and visitors alike. This special month is a project of the Dearborn Recreation Commission and Cultural Arts Committee with support from the Dearborn Community Fund.
The month brings multiple mostly free and family friendly events, programs, and opportunities across the city.
The “Arty Party” scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Artspace Studios, 13615 Michigan Avenue, and Fishnet Art Studios, 4357 Schaefer in East Dearborn, is a free event and provides visitors an opportunity to interact with working artists in their creative spaces. An exhibit, music, and other activities are included.
The Mayor’s Arts Awards takes place at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 28 in Studio A at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Avenue. Open to the public at no charge, seven awards will be presented. The evening will include light entertainment and a reception following the award presentation.
The public is encouraged to visit six gallery locations throughout the month offering free admission and exhibits that are educational, colorful, and creative. The galleries include: Padzieski (Ford Community & Performing Arts Center); Rotunda (Centennial Library); UM-Dearborn Stamelos Gallery; Henry Ford College Sisson Gallery; and Art for the Spirit Gallery/Corewell Health Dearborn; and the Arab American National Museum.
Music takes center stage when the Dearborn Symphony performs the music of Henry Mancini at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center on April 11 at 7:30 p.m. followed by the National Arab Orchestra performance of “Echoes from the East” on April 26.
