ALERT: Update on water main breaks throughout city

UPDATE (Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024) 

As of Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, all water main breaks caused by storms on Tuesday, Aug. 28, have been mitigated and repaired by City of Dearborn DPW crews. 

ALERT (Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024)

Department of Public Works (DPW) crews are currently repairing several water main breaks caused by storms on Tuesday, Aug. 28. In the following days, DPW crews will repair water main breaks at the following locations. 

  • Hollander St
  • Herberweir 
  • Robindale
  • Telegraph between Rockford and Fordson 

Crews are responding to reports as quickly as possible and will return to sites to clean up after all water main breaks are resolved. 

As of Thursday, Aug. 29, DPW crews have made repairs have been made along the following streets.  

  • North Waverly
  • North Telegraph 
  • North Franklin
  • Outer Dr
  • Oak
  • Robindale
  • Highview
  • Nightingale

Properties that experienced a water main break this week may see discolored water when you turn it on. Before use, run water on cold for 30 minutes from a faucet in the lowest level of the home/property (typically the basement) until the water is clear.
