The Authority is under the supervision and control of the Board of Directors. Per the EDDDA bylaws, members of the Board of Directors shall consist of the Mayor or his designee from the City Council and not less than 8 or more than 12 members. Members shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the City Council, for a 4-year term.
No less than a majority of the members shall be persons having an interest in property located in the downtown district, or officers, members, trustees, principals, or employees of a legal entity having an interest in property located in the downtown district. No less than 1 of the members shall be residents of the downtown district.
All members of the Board of Directors are also appointed to serve on the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee shall consist of the three Board officers, Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary-Treasurer, together with the Chairs of the Standing Committees. The Executive Committee shall be responsible for reviewing the agenda for the regular Board meetings and proposing the Strategic Agenda for the Board.
East Dearborn DDA meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of each month. All meetings begin at 9 a.m. in the City Council Chambers of the Dearborn Administrative Center (16901 Michigan Ave).
Members of the public are encouraged to attend. Per the Board bylaws, public comment shall be heard at the end of the meeting agenda. Please note there may be a time limitation of up to three (3) minutes per person for public comment.
