City buildings closed; trash, recycling delayed on Thursday, July 4

Several City of Dearborn buildings will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Closures will impact the Dearborn Administrative Center, the 19th District Court, the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, and all Dearborn Public Library branches.
The Dearborn Ice Skating Center will be closed on both Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5.
Trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup will be delayed by one day for each district on Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5. Thursday’s district will be serviced on Friday, July 5, and Friday's district will be serviced on Saturday, July 6.
Pickup will follow the regular schedule on Monday, July 8.
Everyone shares the responsibility to ensure a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July. It is crucial for all residents to remember and adhere to the City’s fireworks ordinance, which mirrors state law.
Residents can only use fireworks on their own property between 11 a.m. and 11:45 p.m. between Saturday, June 29, and Friday, July 5, 2024.
Those who violate this ordinance and are found discharging fireworks outside the designated dates and times will be fined. Anyone found discharging fireworks outside of the designated dates and times is subject to a mandatory civil fine.
