City Building Closures for the Holidays; Trash Collection will be Impacted

Several City of Dearborn buildings will be closed in observance of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. The Dearborn Administrative Center, 19th District Court, all Dearborn Public Libraries, The Center and the DISC will be closed on the following days:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 24
  • Thursday, Dec. 25
  • Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026  

Trash and recycling collection is also affected and will be delayed by one day, beginning Thursday, Dec. 25. Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed again on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. 

 

Building Hours

The Dearborn Fire Department, Police Department, and Dispatch Center will continue to operate around the clock, everyday, for those in need.

The Dearborn Administrative Center (DAC), the 19th District Court, and all Dearborn Public Library branches will also be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 31. These buildings will resume regular hours Friday, Dec. 26, Monday, Dec. 29, Tuesday, Dec. 30 and Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. 

The Ford Community & Performing Arts Center and the Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC) will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1. The Center will operate holiday hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Dearborn Seniors Services, located inside The Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025 through Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026. 

 

Trash and Recycling

Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day beginning on Thursday, Dec. 25. This means that residents with a Thursday pickup will have their trash and recycling collected on Friday, Dec. 26. 

Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day again on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Trash and recycling will be collected Friday, Jan. 2 and Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026.
