The City of Dearborn has earned its fourth consecutive Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The honor recognizes the city's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, underscoring its continued commitment to fiscal transparency and sound management under Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud.

An impartial panel evaluated Dearborn’s report, confirming it exceeds standard statutory accounting requirements to clearly communicate the city's financial condition to the public. The Certificate of Achievement represents the highest level of recognition in governmental accounting.

Chief Financial Officer Michael Kennedy stated “The continued recognition by the premier organization for government finance professionals reflects our unwavering commitment to accurate accounting practices, ensuring complete transparency and full disclosure in all of our annual financial reporting."

“Over the past four years, our administration has made fiscal responsibility both a promise and a standard in Dearborn. This honor highlights our dedication to balanced, transparent budgeting for a stronger financial future,” said Mayor Hammoud.

The Certificate of Achievement represents the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, signifying a landmark accomplishment for the City of Dearborn and its executive management.
