SMS Text Programs 

  • TextMyGov: Messages may include topics such as water services, leaf collection, trash pickup, road closures, City-sponsored events, and more information about your neighborhood.  
  • Nixle alerts: Messages may include topics such as storm and weather alerts and information for and during emergencies. 

SMS Disclaimer 

  1. When opted-in, you will receive text messages (SMS/MMS) from the City of Dearborn to your mobile number. 
     
  2. You can opt out of this service at any time by texting “STOP” to the phone number. After you text “STOP,” we will send you an SMS reply to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to rejoin, you may sign up as you did the first time, or text “START,” and we will resume sending SMS messages to you.
     
  3. If you are experiencing any issues at any time, contact the City at 311 or Dearborn.gov/Contact. 
     
  4. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
     
  5. Message and data rates may apply.

  • When you opt-in, the City of Dearborn (the “City”) adds your mobile number to the database to receive text messages (SMS/MMS) from the City.
     
  • The City DOES NOT access additional information from your device or “track” you through your phone.  
     
  • The City WILL NOT rent, sell, or otherwise share your information with any third party unless required by law.
     
  • This privacy notice may be updated from time to time. The City will post the date the policy was last updated at the bottom of this page. You are agreeing to be bound by the terms as they are modified from time to time.

 

TextMyGov Privacy Policy

TextMyGov does not release contact information to any outside party and only receives your information after a voluntary opt-in.


TextMyGov provides its Customers (civic organizations, government agencies, or other entities) with the tools and resources to collect the mobile phone numbers of their customers/constituents or other consumers on an opt-in basis using mobile keywords.


When you subscribe to a notification, we receive your phone number, the town, zip code, carrier, and state associated with your phone number, and your subscription preference. We will store this data for the sole purpose of sending you notifications. We may also collect and store the number of subscribers for statistical purposes.


At any time, you may opt out of receiving notifications by sending the SMS message ‘STOP‘ to 91896. (Message and data rates may apply.)


This product is not intended for any users under the age of 18.
